I love painting cars and space ships. I start by painting them as silhouettes and then adding the headlights and small bright details. As long as they stand out against the background and the light is behind them, it works great! I think for my next painting, I will paint some boats on the lake in the sunset with their lights shining. We have a beautiful lake here in Eureka Springs and at sunset, especially on the 4th of July, you can see so many boats and lights and it’s quite beautiful.

Anyway, this is a great way to start painting vehicles with headlights. Once you have mastered this simple technique, it’s time to move on to more complex lighting.
